Servings Per Container: 1.
Step-by-step instruction
Cranberry sauce is a delicious addition to meat and poultry like duck, turkey, pork or beef. Sweet and sour sauce interestingly diversifies the taste of meat, making it more elegant and original. Preparing a dish at home is not difficult at all, the main thing is to follow the recommendations from the step-by-step photo recipe described below.
Cranberry-orange sauce can be made as a dessert topping, as it perfectly combines the sweet flavors of cane sugar and orange with the sourness of zest and cranberry. For cooking, you will need a juicer, grater, saucepan, all of the listed ingredients and half an hour of free time.
Step 1
The first step is to prepare the right amount of orange juice. Take a fruit, rinse thoroughly under running water. If there is any damage on the peel, then cut it off. Cut the product in half and squeeze the juice through a juicer, if not, you can squeeze out the juice with your hands. Using the shallow side of the grater, grate the zest of half an orange, but do not rub too hard and grab the white part, as the sauce will taste bitter with it.

Step 2
Prepare your cranberries. Rinse the product thoroughly under running water and cut (or tear off) all the tails from the base of the berries. Take a deep saucepan and pour cranberries into it, add grated zest and squeezed orange juice.

Step 3
Measure out the required amount of cane sugar (you can add regular sugar, but then the calorie content of the sauce will increase), add to the other ingredients and stir. Place two whole cinnamon sticks in a saucepan (so that later it is easy to get them, otherwise the smell of cranberries and oranges will clog with spice).

Step 4
Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat, bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Then reduce heat to low and cook until the berries are tender and burst easily (but not less than 10 minutes after boiling). Stir the sauce constantly, otherwise it may stick to the bottom and start burning.
To make the sauce thick, you need to increase the cooking time to 20-25 minutes, otherwise 10-15 is enough.

Step 5
Take out the cinnamon sticks, mix the sauce well and let stand, covered, for 5-10 minutes. Then you can transfer it to a container suitable for long-term storage (always with a lid, otherwise it will weather). In the refrigerator, this sauce can be stored for up to 5 days.
