A recipe with step-by-step photos of making delicious and juicy beef meatballs without rice in tomato sauce.

Servings Per Container: 8 Servings.

Step-by-step instruction

Beef meatballs are a delicious and tender meat dish that is baked in the oven with tomato sauce. Meatballs can be included in the diet for those who follow a healthy and proper diet (PP). However, in order for the meatballs to be dietary, you need to skip the step of frying the meatballs in a pan. In order to prepare a dish, you need to purchase (or better make it yourself) ground beef, large white onion, garlic, milk with a fat content of 1-2.5 percent, chicken eggs, carrots, tomato sauce and spices to choose from. Making meatballs at home is not problematic if you use the recommendations from the step-by-step photo recipe described below.

Tip: instead of tomato sauce or canned tomatoes, you can use thick tomato paste or homemade fruit drink, but in the latter case, the gravy will need to be thickened with a spoonful of potato starch.

Step 1

Peel a couple of garlic cloves and pass the vegetable through a press. Peel the onions, rinse under cold water and cut the vegetable into small squares. Take a deep bowl, place the ground beef, break two eggs, add the chopped onion and prepared garlic. Add some breadcrumbs and stir. Then season with salt and pepper and add any spices to taste. Pour in some milk and stir until smooth. The mixture should not turn out too liquid, so if you overdo it with milk, then add some more crackers.

Step 2

Wet your hands with water and shape the minced meat into balls of about the same size. Hands can be greased with a thin layer of vegetable oil, but then the calorie content of the dish will slightly increase.

Step 3

Take a wide skillet with high sides and add some vegetable oil. When it heats up, put the prepared meatballs and fry on all sides until golden brown.

Step 4

In a separate deep bowl, combine the tomato juice with a couple of finely chopped garlic cloves, salt, pepper and any spices of your choice. Peel the carrots and grate the vegetable on a fine grater, then add to the tomato sauce and mix thoroughly. Transfer the meat to a baking dish and cover with the prepared sauce. Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes to cook.
