These questions have been occupying the minds of many Russians since March 2014, when Putin signed a decree launching an all-Russian project to revive the Soviet system “Ready for Labor and Defense”: why do citizens of modern Russia need to pass TRP standards? What's the point of this?
The first and most obvious answer to the question of why you need to pass the TRP standards today is you first of all need it yourself. For the prevention of diseases, for improving well-being, and ultimately for a better future. By training to pass standards, you make a significant contribution to your health and longevity - yours and your future children.
The second answer to the question of why pass the TRP norms was given by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation at a March press conference in 2015: he invited employers to encourage employees with badges financially or additional days for vacation. This issue is dealt with by a special government commission, the preference will be implemented in the near future.
Also, high school students will soon receive motivation why they need to pass the TRP standards - they say that the presence of the badge will provide the applicant with additional points when entering the university.
So: for applicants - a plus to the chances of entering a good university, for workers - plus a vacation, and a huge plus to health - for everyone. So is the revival of the Ready for Labor and Defense complex an empty undertaking?
