The "Ready for Labor and Defense" complex was not invented in 2014. The history of the TRP standards goes back 60 years.
The history of the development of the TRP complex begins soon after the Great October Revolution. The enthusiasm of the Soviet people and their craving for new things manifested themselves in all spheres: culture, labor, science and sports. In the history of the development of new methods and forms of physical education, the Komsomol played the main role. He initiated the creation of the All-Union complex "Ready for Labor and Defense".
The history of the creation of the TRP complex began in 1930, when an appeal was published in the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper in which it was proposed to introduce the All-Union tests "Ready for Labor and Defense". It was proposed to establish uniform criteria for assessing the physical condition of citizens. And those who will fulfill the established requirements will be awarded with a badge. This initiative quickly gained widespread support. Soon the TRP program was developed and in March 1931 it was approved. They began to conduct active propaganda activities. Compulsory classes were introduced in all general education schools, secondary special, vocational and higher educational institutions, as well as in the police, in the USSR Armed Forces and a number of other organizations.
Initially, only men over 18 and women over 17 could receive the badge. Three age categories stood out among men and women. The first complex included only one degree, which included 21 tests. 5 of them were of a practical nature. They included running, jumping, throwing a grenade, pulling up, swimming, rowing, horse riding, etc. Theoretical tests implied knowledge of the basics of physical self-control, the history of sports achievements, and the provision of first aid.
The tests were carried out in villages, towns, villages, enterprises and organizations. The complex had a high political and ideological orientation, the conditions for performing physical exercises included in the standards were widely available, its obvious health benefits, the development of skills and abilities - all this quickly led to the fact that it became very popular, especially among young people. Already in 1931, 24 thousand Soviet citizens received the TRP badge.
Those who received the badge could enter a special educational institution for physical education on preferential terms, and also had an advantage in the right to participate in sports events and competitions of the all-Union, republican and international levels. But the history of the TRP in Russia did not end there.
In 1932, a second stage appeared in the Ready for Labor and Defense complex. It included 25 tests for men, of which there were 22 practical and 3 theoretical and 21 tests for women. In 1934, a set of physical fitness tests for children was introduced.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the program was forgotten. But, as it turned out, the history of the emergence and development of the TRP complex did not end there.
The revival took place in March 2014, when the corresponding decree of the President of the Russian Federation was issued. The complex is planned to be distributed throughout the territory of Russia, involving all age groups. And in order to increase motivation, bonuses are going to be introduced for those who have passed the TRP standards. Applicants are promised additional points to the results of the USE, students - an increase in the scholarship, for the working population - bonuses in addition to salaries and a certain number of days that extend the vacation. This is the history and modernity of the program “Ready for Labor and Defense, a new round of development of which we can observe.
