This dietary supplement contains the amino acid tyrosine. The substance helps to normalize sleep, reduces anxiety, and restores emotional balance. The tool is taken with emotional stress, as well as for the prevention of a number of mental and neurological diseases. Properties
Tyrosine is a nonessential amino acid. The compound is a precursor of catecholamines, which are mediators produced by the adrenal medulla and also by the brain. Thus, the amino acid promotes the production of norepinephrine, adrenaline, dopamine, as well as thyroid hormones.
The main properties of tyrosine are:
- participation in the synthesis of catecholamines by the adrenal glands;
- regulation of blood pressure;
- burning fat in the subcutaneous tissue;
- activation of the production of somatotropin by the pituitary gland - growth hormone with an anabolic effect;
- maintaining the functioning of the thyroid gland;
- protecting nerve cells from damage and improving blood supply to brain structures, increasing concentration, memory and alertness;
- acceleration of the transmission of nerve signals through synapses from one neuron to another;
- participation in the neutralization of the alcohol metabolite - acetaldehyde.
Indications
Tyrosine is prescribed for therapy and prevention:

- phenylketonuria, in which endogenous synthesis of tyrosine is impossible;
- hypotension;

How to use
Depending on the form of release chosen, the recommendations for taking the supplement differ.
Capsules
One serving corresponds to a capsule. It is recommended to take 1-3 times a day one to one and a half hours before meals. The tablet is washed down with plain drinking water or fruit juice.

Powder
A serving corresponds to a quarter teaspoon of the powder. The product is dissolved in water or juice and taken 1-3 times a day for an hour and a half before meals.
Contraindications
Do not combine the intake of tyrosine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors. The supplement is prescribed with caution for hyperthyroidism, since the symptoms of the disease may increase.
It is not recommended to take dietary supplements for pregnant and lactating women.
Side effects
Exceeding the maximum allowable dosage can cause dyspeptic disorders.
With the simultaneous administration of tyrosine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tyramine syndrome develops, characterized by the occurrence of severe headache of a pulsating nature, discomfort in the heart, photophobia, convulsive syndrome, and arterial hypertension. Pathology increases the risk of stroke and myocardial infarction. Clinical manifestations appear after 15-20 minutes of combined intake of tyrosine and MAO inhibitors. A fatal outcome is possible against the background of a developed stroke or heart attack.
