CrossFit is a fairly young sport. And this is proved by the fact that most of the athletes in it come from other sports. But there are also exceptions. In particular, Icelandic athlete Katrin Tanya Davidsdottir appeared in it at the age of 18. It was then that she came to the gym with the goal of working out her body for the summer, but after a month she changed her direction to pure crossfit training.
Short biography
At the age of 24, the athlete has already established herself as one of the most successful stars at the latest CrossFit games.
Despite her young age, she is one of the most motivated athletes interested in winning. When Catherine Tanya was asked what helps to overcome the difficulties of sports and life, her answer was extremely simple and laconic: "Complete surrender is a victory."
The beginning of a sports career
Catherine Tanya Davidsdottir was born in 1993 in Iceland, where she received her secondary education and entered a university. Since 2010, he has been fond of CrossFit. At the moment, she is one of the youngest and most promising athletes in this sport. In particular, already in 2012, the girl already had two, albeit not very successful, but quite confident performances at the Crossfit Games from Reebok behind her back.
In 2014, Catherine Tanya skipped CrossFit games, but it was a deliberate and well-considered decision. The girl decided to skip one season in order to enter the all-around ring in a completely new, unrecognizable form already in 2015. It was during this period that she snatched victory from competitors and received her first title of "the most prepared woman in the world", which she has been successfully defending for two years now.
Previously, Davidsdottir - played for the Icelandic team, but then made several key castlings. In particular, she first went to the English team to perform in the 13th year, and already from the 16th year, she moved to the USA in order to prepare for new competitions with top coach Ben Bergenner.
Today - Katherine Tanya Davidsdottir plays for the New England team, and successfully demonstrates her advantage over the rest of the athletes, giving out performance by a wide margin.
The path to crossfit
Like many other modern athletes in the world of CrossFit, Davidsdottir has impressive performances outside of power all-around. In particular, at the age of 16, she actively participated in sprint races, and seriously intended to participate in the Olympic Games.
In addition, from the age of 10, Davidsdottir is a profiled gymnast, which, in turn, influenced her speed-strength qualities. With amazing flexibility in joints and the beginnings of acrobatic training, she has not suffered a single serious injury in her entire crossfit career.
Tanya Davidsdottir joined CrossFit in 2010 after unsuccessful performances in gymnastics, then she decided to seriously redesign herself into a sport that is gaining popularity in Iceland. And already in 2011, the girl performed at the first crossfit games under the patronage of Reebok.

Catherine Tanya Davidsdottir is one of the slimmest athletes in all-around power. In particular, she weighs only 70 kilograms and is 169 centimeters tall. Has a waist less than 70 centimeters and an arm less than 40 centimeters. This is already an outstanding achievement, since most of the girls involved in CrossFit do little to monitor their anthropometry, which negatively affects the appearance of the athletes.
