In Russian CrossFit, there are still not as many famous athletes as on the world stage who can boast of impressive achievements. This is not surprising, because this sport came to us much later. Nevertheless, “on the heels” of such venerable athletes as Andrei Ganin, young competitors, such as Fedor Serokov, the main “popularizer” of crossfit among young people, are stepping on.
Most of the currently famous Russian athletes have got into CrossFit from other sports. Unlike them, Fedor came to CrossFit, one might say, from the street. He immediately created his own complexes and, most importantly, developed an active activity to attract young people to training.
Short biography
Fedor Serkov was born in 1992 in the city of Zarechny, Sverdlovsk region. This is a small town, known solely for the presence of a nuclear power plant there, and has given the Russian crossfit community one of the best adherents of crossfit in the Russian Federation.
Since childhood, Fyodor Serkov was not extremely developed, in addition, he had bad habits, which he could get rid of only with the advent of professional sports. By the way, Fedor loves not only strength training, he also plays very well at chess. And the young man also likes to be engaged in coaching, constantly improving the results of his wards and practicing such training methods that no one has tried before.
An interesting fact: the first workouts, not yet related to CrossFit, he spent in his home gym, where there were only two barbells, parallel bars and a few rusty weights. And he won his first barbell in chess based on the results of 8 games in 2012, when he was already a professional in his field.
After finishing school, Serkov moved to Yekaterinburg, where he got acquainted with CrossFit. Then, having achieved some personal success, he realized that his main task was not only performances, but also training activities, thanks to which people previously unfamiliar with CrossFit could achieve better results.
After the start of crossfit training, the athlete, according to his sports performance, won the right to receive sports categories in kettlebell lifting (at the MS level), weightlifting and powerlifting.
Coming to CrossFit
Fedor Serkov got into CrossFit absolutely by accident. However, thanks to a happy coincidence, he became one of the best Russian athletes in this young sport.
When the future famous crossfitter moved from his town to Yekaterinburg, he decided to come to grips with his figure, which left much to be desired. Unlike most gym goers who come to workout for weight loss, Fedor, on the contrary, suffered from excessive thinness. In a thin penny of those times, you would never have recognized the current giant.
Having got to his first fitness club, the athlete managed to get a number of injuries during the first few training months. This discouraged him in the competence of the trainers, and he decided to change the gym, getting into the increasingly popular CrossFit box. There Serkov first learned what CrossFit is, and after 2 years of hard training under the guidance of various coaches, he was able to become one of the best athletes in Russia.
It is only through a happy coincidence that today we have one of the greatest activists promoting CrossFit among Russian athletes.
Results and achievements
Fedor Serkov is the owner of some of the most outstanding sporting achievements among Russian crossfitters. Having started in CrossFit quite early, it was only after two years of hard training that he decided to enter the world CrossFit arena. And a year later, the athlete performed for the first time at world regional competitions.
In addition, he received the title of the most prepared person in Central Asia. And this despite the fact that the young man had absolutely no sports background behind his back. Nevertheless, he managed to become one of the outstanding athletes in Russia and rise one step with such legends of domestic crossfit as Larisa Zaitsevskaya, Andrei Ganin, Daniil Shokhin.

Its results on the domestic CrossFit scene deserve a special mention. In particular, Serkov has a huge number of first places, and even official recognition from the world association Reebok Crossfit Games as the best coach.

For three years in a row, the athlete was recognized as the most physically fit person in the Russian Federation - from 2013 to 2015. But, recall that he was then only 21 years old. This was the earliest start for a CrossFit championship so far.
Athlete's sports performance
Fyodor Serkov is a fairly young athlete, nevertheless he shows a very interesting balance between his strength indicators and indicators in workout complexes. In terms of strength indicators, the athlete shows the level of MSMK in weightlifting and powerlifting, doing deadlifts with a barbell weighing over 210 kilograms and showing a total weight well over half a ton.
In addition, we must not forget about his snatch and clean and jerk exercises, which can puzzle even Rich Froning himself. Nevertheless, so far, Fedor does not allow one feature to successfully perform at world competitions - a long recovery between approaches. This somewhat reduces its performance in the complexes. Although, if we take his results in separate workout exercises, then here he bypasses the closest competitors in each individual exercise.
Indicators in basic exercises
In recent years, Serkov has focused his training on increasing his own energy reserves in order to fix his results and, finally, to show all his peak abilities in exercises within one set.
Program | Index |
Barbell Shoulder Squat | 215 |
Barbell push | 200 |
Barbell snatch | 160,5 |

Run 5000 m | 19:45 |
Bench press standing | 95 kg |
Bench press | 160+ |
Deadlift | 210 kg |
Taking on the chest and pushing | 118 |
At the same time, the results that Serkov himself recorded in his demonstration performances at the Open, and the results that were recorded by the federation during Fedor's performances at regional competitions, are very different. In particular, he showed the peak in classical complexes during their execution at the Open, while he improves the results of the execution of the Lisa, Cindy complexes and rowing on the simulator every year during his performances.
Indicators in the main complexes
Despite his coaching activity, the athlete continues to progress, and it is quite possible that the results that you see in the table are no longer relevant, and Serkov updated them to new maximums, proving that the possibilities of the human body are simply endless.
Program | Index |

Fedor's sports philosophy
Having started doing crossfit outside Yekaterinburg, in the Zarechny Sverdlovsk region, Fedor realized how poorly our athletes were prepared for world performances. In fact, every athlete, even a performer, is deprived of the basic information necessary for continuous progress. As a result, many are injured during training, suffer from overtraining and lack of motivation.
Most athletes, according to Serkov, are adherents of "chemical" training, which is not quite suitable for straight athletes. And therefore, a trip to a regular fitness center for many may turn out not to be a benefit, but a harm to health with a large cash infusion. That is why the athlete has created his own unique program that allows him to train without getting injured and to correctly set tasks for himself.
No, he does not strive to make every person stronger and more stubborn. He simply shows that with the right approach, it is not at all as difficult as it seems to many. And thanks to his coaching activity, CrossFit has been widely developed in Russia in recent years.
Fedor considers his main achievement to be the opportunity to popularize CrossFit in every corner of the country and make it publicly available. Indeed, according to Serkov himself, the more athletes are engaged in a particular sport, the more chances that someone genetically gifted and adapted to incredible loads will be able to finally break into the world stage, like Andrei Ganin, and enter the top ten most prepared athletes on the planet.
Coaching activities
Today Fyodor Serkov is not only a successful athlete who almost every year qualifies for the international Open and occupies very impressive places there as for a Russian athlete, but also a second-level coach who has the right to teach other coaches and introduce innovations from the world crossfit into domestic training programs. ...
In addition, he actively trains the best athletes of the former USSR, using the capabilities of his own gym, equipped specifically for CrossFit. In particular, he offers his clients two programs, one of which is aimed at improving their professional qualities as an athlete, and the other is an alternative to classic fitness and helps beginners to cope with the problems of their own body so that they become not only beautiful "by summer" but also acquired real skills from the functionality.
System "Progress"
The essence of this training system is as follows:
- aimed at professional athletes;
- suitable for transition to crossfit from other sports disciplines;
- implies maximum harmonious development;
- eliminates the shortcomings of classic training methods;
- has an extremely low injury risk;
- shows the possibilities of nutrition in achieving sports results;
- works on imbalances that athletes and gym visitors may experience in connection with previous achievements;
- huge information base.
This technique is suitable not only for beginners, but also for professional athletes who want to surpass the results of Serkov himself. At the same time, she helps to reveal the coaching potential. After completing this program, coaches easily pass the Reebok exams, becoming Level 1 Coaches. And most importantly, it is suitable not only for those who want to compete in CrossFit, but also for those who are engaged in similar sports disciplines, be it bodybuilding, beach fitness, powerlifting, weightlifting, etc.
System "Recomposition"
This training system has the following advantages:
- aimed at beginners;
- suitable for most visitors to crossfit gyms;
- the only program based on microperiodization that allows you to effectively burn fat and gain muscle mass that does not require further drying;
- suitable for people with any physique;
- can be the start for the Progress program.
More than a thousand athletes across Russia have appreciated the benefits of recomposition, in particular, it has become revolutionary in the fight against PTSD caused by injuries during training and competition. But, most importantly, thanks to such a simple, but at the same time effective "recomposition" program, Fedor Serkov was able to draw the attention of the Russian Sports Federation to CrossFit. In many ways, it is believed that it was he who gave impetus to the popularization of this sport in the homeland, and most importantly, he showed that crossfit can be practiced not only in Cooksville or Moscow, but also in small cities and regional centers such as Yekaterinburg.
Finally
Today, Fedor Serkov is a performing athlete who is actively involved in coaching. As he himself believes, his main task is not only to achieve his own results, but also to popularize crossfit in Russia and abroad.
Indeed, first of all, the achievements of Western athletes appeared not because specific individuals were able to train hard, but precisely because they were able to train and improve and were able to set new sports goals for themselves.
This is proved by the practice of Australia, the country from which all the champions of 2017 came. After all, before this discipline gained wide popularity in this country, there was little hope that any of the Australian athletes would take a prize. Consequently, Serkov's mission is to make crossfit as widespread as other sports in the Russian Federation, and to increase our chances of becoming the best of the best on the world stage.
