Braised green beans is a tasty and healthy dish that will delight you not only with its low calorie content, but also with a pleasant taste. The dish is cooked for no more than an hour, but the cooking time may be different, since much depends on the variety of beans and their age. Step 1

Prepare all ingredients first. Prepare 500 grams of beans, as well as 3 tomatoes and herbs. Choose your favorite condiments and spices, as well as onions and garlic. If everything is ready, then you can start cooking.

Step 2

Wash the green beans and cut into medium sized pieces. Keep in mind that the smaller the slicing, the faster the dish will cook.

Step 3

Now you need to prepare the tomatoes. First, they must be peeled off. To do this, you need to make cuts in the lower part of the vegetable, and then pour boiling water over the tomatoes and leave for 3-5 minutes. When time has passed, take out the tomatoes and peel them. This procedure is necessary to make vegetables easier to peel. The consistency of such tomatoes is more uniform, and the product soaks the dish better with its juice. Cut the peeled tomatoes into small cups.

Step 4

Place the chopped beans in a saucepan, cover with water and place on the stove. Cook the product for 20 minutes.

Note! The readiness of the beans can be determined as follows. Pierce the product: if it is half-finished, that is, it pierces well, but with a crunch, then remove it from the stove.

Step 5

While the beans are cooking, you can do other vegetables, such as onions. The vegetable must be peeled and rinsed under running water. This manipulation should be done with garlic. 1-2 heads of garlic are enough for a dish, but if you like more savory dishes, then you can add as many as you like. Peeled and washed onions should be cut into thin half rings. And the garlic can be chopped arbitrarily.

Step 6

Take a frying pan, pour vegetable or olive oil into it and place it on the stove. When the oil is hot, add the chopped onions and garlic to the skillet. Cook the vegetables for one or 2 minutes.

Now you can add the half-cooked green beans, cut into pieces, to the onion pan.

After the beans, add the peeled and diced tomatoes to the skillet. Place the pan with vegetables on the stove and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Add salt, spices and black pepper a few minutes before cooking is complete.
