Glucosamine with chondroitin - how to take? This is the question that people who are faced with diseases of the musculoskeletal system ask themselves.

However, this remedy is used not only for diseases, but also for general strengthening of the body during various sports activities or loads. It is very often used by people who are running and where strengthening the motor system is very important.

What is Glucosamine with Chondroitin?

Each element is individually responsible for its own functions in the body:

  • Glucosamine helps the cartilage tissue in the body to repair and return to normal faster. It is produced on its own, but in a small amount, which is not enough under intense stress or certain diseases.

In order to replenish the required amount, you can purchase special preparations (dietary supplements) based on it. The prophylactic dosage for the average adult is 1500 milligrams daily (3 times) for 3 months.

  • Chondroitin is produced in the human body and promotes the regeneration of cartilage. As well as glucosamine, it can be taken in supplements of 1200 milligrams per day for 3 months. There are also drugs that combine both of these elements.

What products contain?

In addition to dietary supplements, glucosamine and chondroitin are stored in some foods:

  • A significant amount of these elements is found in the cartilage of any type of meat.
  • Also, a large number of them are found in foods with a significant content of glutamine. These are hard types of cheese, beef and poultry.
  • Large amounts of chondroitin are found in the skin, joints and cartilage of meat products.

How quickly do chondroitin and glucosamine take effect?

The absorption of chondroitin is much slower due to the fact that this substance is extractive. But when combined with glucosamine, assimilation begins to occur faster.

Contraindications, side effects and precautions

Chondroitin and glucosamine are contraindicated for people with hypersensitivity or phenylketonuria.

The drug should be kept away from places accessible to children. This remedy should be taken with osteoarthritis from 1 to 3 degrees.

Side effects in some specific cases may be:

  • disruption of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • allergic reactions and skin rashes;
  • dizziness, pain in the head, limbs, drowsiness or insomnia are rarely observed;
