I have been running for over 10 years, and during this time I have tried to involve many in my favorite activity. But in the end, I concluded that if a person does not have a goal that he could achieve thanks to running, then there is no point in forcing him to go jogging either.
Even if you are forcibly dragged for a run, and they will do it every time, as soon as the snare looses, you will immediately come up with a new excuse for yourself not to run.
And even if you can force yourself to run for a while, only at the expense of moral and volitional qualities, then sooner or later you will still give up this venture.

Which would really be a goal, not a momentary passion. That is, if you have a goal to lose weight, then it must have a solid foundation. And not so that if you fail to lose weight, then you will immediately come up with an excuse for yourself with the words: "there should be a lot of a good person", well, or something else like that. Either there is a goal, and you strive for it in every way, and running helps you in achieving it. Either there is no goal, but there is a momentary passion, when today you "caught fire" to run, and tomorrow you are already tired.
Need like-minded people
You can start running without like-minded people, having a goal. But to continue running without those who will be interested in hearing about how you were able to run a lot or quickly, you need a truly strong-willed character and a very serious goal. Unfortunately, and sometimes fortunately, when the task of running is to cure some serious illness, not everyone has such a goal.
But when you have like-minded people, then it will be much easier to continue running and force yourself to do it when you don't feel like it at all. After all, tomorrow you will have to "report" on your runs to people who are also involved in this sport. And it will not be very pleasant to talk about the fact that instead of running you were lazy on the couch.

Need good sportswear
The easiest way to start running is to buy an expensive sportswear for running... After the purchase, you will be so sorry for the money spent on equipment that you will force yourself to run so that the good does not disappear.
