How to choose dumbbells

If you prefer your own apartment to fitness clubs and gyms, then sooner or later you will be faced with the fact that it is necessary to increase the load on the muscles when performing various exercises. And for this you need to purchase good weights, which can be found in a large assortment at Ligasporta... The choice of dumbbells there is very large. And how not to get lost in it and choose exactly what you need, we will consider in the article.

You should not take the first dumbbells you see. First of all, dumbbells are needed, in which the weight can change in order to perform more different exercises with the correct weights.

Let's consider several devices and their characteristics.

1. Removable disks.

Many people who grew up in the days when dumbbells were made from a single piece of iron, and cannot imagine that the weight of the equipment can change at the request of the owner. The more removable disks, or in other words, pancakes, the better for you. Their weight, as a rule, starts from 0.5 kg, and can end with anything, the main thing is that at least two and a half kilograms - the weight range will allow you to perform any exercises with any level of load.

2. Neck length

Here you decide for yourself how it will be more convenient for you. Hold the bar in your hand, put a few pancakes on it and figure out if you will be comfortable with this ratio and if there is enough room on the bar for future success. A bar that is too short will make it difficult to put on removable discs and gain extra weight. An overly long bar is also difficult to hold in your hand during some exercises.

3. Dumbbell handles

Their thickness depends on the characteristics of the hand. Here, when choosing, the principle is still the same: hold the dumbbell in your hand, check if it rubs and does not slip out of your hand. A good option is a rubberized or grooved handle that will not callus or slip out.

4. Removable disk holder

There are two technologies for holding the discs: when the holder is screwed into the handle of the dumbbell and when the pancakes are attached with pegs. It is recommended to choose dumbbells with the first attachment method, as they are more convenient to use and safer. In the second type, there is a great danger of the discs jumping off, which can lead to injury.

5. Disc edging

Rubber edged pancakes will not harm your furniture and will also reduce the noise from falling.
