Today, the most popular footwear is sneakers. Someone likes to run, while others just take walks. As a result, the sneakers quickly get dirty and look ugly. And then the question arises, how to properly wash them?
And so, let's figure out step by step how to wash sneakers correctly
Step 1: Choosing an option to wash your sneakers
First you need to carefully examine your sneakers. If there are holes on them, some elements are slightly peeled off, in this case it is better to stick to only hand wash. Otherwise, there is a great risk that the sneakers may deteriorate. It is also better to refrain from washing in a machine if the shoes have elements of natural or artificial leather. It is worth noting that most of the sneakers are now made from synthetic materials. This means that they are more resistant and can withstand dozens of washes.
Step 2. Washing laces and insoles
The laces and insoles must be removed from the sneakers if they are removable. It is best to wash the laces by hand to prevent them from falling into the drum. The insoles must be pulled out for better washing. Note that if the insoles are orthopedic, then it is advisable to wash them by hand.
Step 3. Cleaning the sole
The sole should be rinsed under running water to get rid of pebbles, sand, dirt and other debris. This can be done with a regular toothbrush or toothpick.
Step 4. Wash your sneakers in a bag
Place your sneakers in a shoe-washing bag. If there is no bag, or it is not possible to buy it, then it can be replaced with an ordinary unnecessary pillowcase by putting sneakers in it. Or you can wash it with your clothes. It is not advisable to wash the sneakers alone, as they will hit the drum, this is bad for both the machine and the sneakers.
If the sneakers are going to be washed in a bag, then you can put laces and insoles in it (only not orthopedic ones).
The noise from the machine when washing shoes will be much higher than when washing clothes. Therefore, this should not be scared, but you just need to get used to it.
Step 5. At what temperature to wash
It is better to wash at a temperature not exceeding 40 °. If the temperature is set higher, then it is more likely that the sneakers can deform.
Of all the available modes, you need to choose the shortest or most delicate. Some cars have a "sports shoes" mode, which simplifies the situation, and if not, then you can choose the right one from a large selection of modes.
It is better to set the spin at about 500-700 rpm; at higher rpm, the sneakers can deteriorate. There are exceptions, but it's better not to risk it.
Step 6. How to dry your sneakers
After completing the wash, the shoes must be dried. To remove excess moisture, you need to wrap your shoes. For this, it is convenient to use napkins or a towel, preferably white. Then another piece of dry towel should be tucked inside the shoe to maintain its shape. Dry away from warm places (radiators, fireplaces, etc.).
Step 7. Washing your sneakers by hand
If there are any doubts about washing sneakers in a washing machine (there is no suitable mode, any elements have come off, there are holes), in this case, all the work will have to be done manually. To do this, you need to rinse the sneakers, and if they are light, then it is advisable to soak them in water for 30-40 minutes. Then, rub them with soap. A toothbrush can help with this, it cleans perfectly. After that, it remains to rinse and put the sneakers to dry, adhering to step 6.
