The Internet Development Institute has proposed introducing electives in e-sports in schools. A letter has been sent to the Ministry of Education.
In it, the authors propose to conduct an experiment in educational institutions, in which adolescent and youth age groups can participate.
This attempt can become part of such federal projects as "Digital Educational Environment" and "Modern School".
A similar study is planned from 2020 to 2025 in several schools in each region of Russia.
All methodological foundations of an optional lesson will be agreed with the education authorities, schools or lyceums, parents and teachers, as well as with the Russian Federation of eSports.
The games themselves will be able to choose not only schoolchildren, but also teachers and psychologists. It is planned that in the future there will be tournaments between educational institutions, which can later be brought to the regional and all-Russian level.
The experts consider the introduction of electives a reasonable solution. Such activities should reduce the number of schoolchildren with network addictions and phobias.
After all, students will be given the opportunity to play not on a par with adults, but with people of the same age and thinking, like themselves.
Moreover, the skills obtained in this way at school can be applied by students in universities, where every year more and more specialties with a computer bias open up.
The Ministry of Education itself has not yet commented on the proposal.
