The bioactive additive Microhydrin is positioned by the manufacturer as the only revolutionary product in the world developed with the participation of Nobel laureates and nominees, using the most advanced technologies. Pseudoscientific claims and misleading product claims are a common marketing ploy of the infamous Coral Club and its mastermind Patrick Flanagan.
The food supplement was promoted on the market as a means to improve the performance of the internal environment of the body (!) And athletic performance by releasing the body's hidden energy resources. This miracle provides consumers with a unique opportunity to constantly support the body, protect it from energy loss, a variety of diseases and early aging.
Like all Flanagan's "miracles", Microhydrin, according to the results of at least four clinical studies, turned out to be completely useless both for athletes and for all other people who want to stay in shape as long as possible. There are not many trials of this supplement, but among them there were very authoritative ones. Data on them can be found in PubMed, an English-language textual database of medical and biological publications created by the US National Center for Biotechnology Information.
Composition and claimed effects
The composition of the additive was changed several times. The product description contains the following components:
- Potassium carbonate (potassium carbonate) is a carbonic acid salt, white, highly soluble in water, crystalline substance. It is used in the production of liquid soap, various types of glass, it is used as a fertilizer, as well as in some other industrial areas, also known as a food additive E501.
- Potassium citrate is a citric acid salt used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
- Magnesium ascorbate is a magnesium cation in combination with ascorbic acid.
- Silicon dioxide (silica) is ordinary sand, which is part of most soils on the planet, in purified form it is used as a sorbent, it can be purchased at any pharmacy under the name "white coal" for very little money.
- Calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) is a strong alkali used as a fertilizer, in the production of mortars, leather tanning, registered as a food additive E526.
- Magnesium sulfate is a drug with a choleretic and laxative effect.
- Mannitol is a drug, a strong diuretic.
- Lemon acid.
- Sunflower oil.
Of all the above, only a compound of ascorbic acid and magnesium has a rather strong antioxidant effect. At the same time, the percentage of the content of various components in the dietary supplement is not indicated. It is better to buy ascorbic acid in a pharmacy, there will be more benefits, and the costs are several times less.
Microhydrin is marketed as a drug with many effects, including:
- rehydration of the body due to the regulation of water balance;
- prevention of severe diseases of the heart, blood vessels, joints, pathologies, diabetes, cancer;
- elimination of pain in the muscles after intense training due to the neutralization of lactic acid;
- life extension;
- increased vitality.
Patrick Flanagan assures that by taking just one capsule of his miracle remedy, a person receives a staggering amount of antioxidants, approximately equal to what is found in 10 thousand glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Indications and contraindications
The manufacturer declares that the use of Microhydrin is recommended for:
- normalization of the digestive system, liver, improvement of the absorption of nutrients;
- strengthening immunity, increasing the body's resistance to infectious agents;
- improving the functioning of the cardiovascular system by enhancing cellular nutrition and neutralizing free radicals;
- neutralizing lactic acid in muscles to alleviate their condition after significant sports loads;
- improving the condition of the skin by eliminating toxins from the body, regulating the water-salt balance.
This remedy also has contraindications, but there are ridiculously few of them: this is the period of pregnancy and individual intolerance to the components of the drug. The manufacturer also declares the safety of the additive, its extremely low toxicity and no harm to health. Which is not surprising, one has only to remember the composition.
Expert opinion
Flanagan claims that six laureates and several Nobel Prize nominees had a hand in the creation of the most powerful superantioxidant of the 21st century, but this information is not supported by anything. Clinical trials necessary to confirm the effectiveness of the drug have never been conducted. There have been several small studies, however, they do not confirm the claimed properties of the supplement.
It is also stated that Microhydrin is able to structure water, due to which it gains greater bioavailability, saturates all cells of the body. However, the theory of structuring is not recognized by the modern scientific community and does not have any worthwhile proofs.
In addition, hydride is a combination of hydrogen with a metal (or an alkaline non-metal). Flanagan easily "enriches" science with new terms, claiming that his hydride contains an additional electron, which provides him with unique properties. It is with them that silicon dioxide is saturated, which is proposed to be consumed in order to increase energy and prolong life by fighting free radicals.
Medical experts claim Flanagan is a fraud and a charlatan. His pseudoscientific explanations can only impress the layman.
In addition, he brings scientists here, who allegedly spent almost eight decades on the development of a unique tool. Based on the composition of Microhydrin, there is no reason to believe that it can have any of the declared effects or have a positive effect on the body. The only thing that can be firmly stated is that the additive does not harm the body.
