Potato gnocchi is a delicious dish that can be quickly prepared according to a step-by-step recipe with a photo.

Step-by-step instruction

Gnocchi are Italian dumplings. To prepare flour balls, you can use cheese, pumpkin, and in our recipe with a photo, potatoes are taken as a basis. Potato gnocchi is a classic option that is very easy to make at home. In addition to the dumplings, you can serve tomato sauce, it turns out very tasty. Don't put off cooking for too long. Treat yourself and your loved ones to a delicious potato dish.

Step 1

First you need to prepare all the ingredients. It is better to take old potatoes, as they better keep the shape of the product during cooking. Rinse the vegetable under running water and place in a saucepan. Pour potatoes with water, salt and boil until tender. After that, drain the water, remove the peel and use a crush to chop the root vegetable. You can use a fork, knife and meat grinder to chop potatoes.

Step 2

Now you need to mix potatoes, wheat flour and chicken eggs in one container. Add a little salt and knead the mixture until smooth.

Step 3

Sprinkle the place where you will work with the potato dough with flour. Pour a handful of flour separately; it will come in handy to grind the finished flour lumps. Take the dough and cut into slices (as shown in the photo).

Roll each piece into a sausage about 2 centimeters in diameter.

Step 5

Cut each sausage into 2.5 centimeters thick slices. They should be small. But, if you prefer large pieces, you can make the gnocchi larger.

Step 6

Sprinkle the chopped pieces with flour.

Step 7

Now you need to roll each piece in flour and lightly press down with your fingers, giving the gnocchi a peculiar shape.

Information! In Italy, the gnocchi are lightly pressed down with a fork so that the characteristic grooves appear on the dough.

Step 8

Take a large saucepan, fill it with water, add a little salt and put on fire. Wait for the water to boil to add the gnocchi to the pot. In the meantime, you can prepare the tomato sauce. It's very simple. Peel the tomatoes and then chop the tomatoes into small pieces. Place the skillet on the stove, add some olive oil and put the tomatoes in the skillet. Fry the vegetable until smooth, add salt, add spices - and that's it, the sauce is ready. By this time, the dumplings should also be ready.

Now mix the potato gnocchi with the tomato sauce and you can serve the dish to the table. Garnish your meal with fresh herbs such as parsley, dill, or spinach. Enjoy your meal!
