A simple recipe with step-by-step photos of making delicious mashed potatoes with bacon and herbs is described below.

Servings Per Container: 4-6 servings.

Step-by-step instruction

Bacon puree is a delicious dish that can be easily prepared at home from young or old potatoes. A small amount of bacon will add a spicy flavor to the potatoes, making the usual mashed potatoes tastier. You can use any greens you want. For this recipe with a photo, green onions, parsley, dill and basil are well suited.

To give the dish a richer milky taste, milk can be replaced with non-fat cream, but in this case the calorie content of the portion will slightly increase.

Step 1

Take potatoes, rinse the tubers under running water and peel them. Cut the potatoes into medium-sized cubes, transfer to a deep saucepan, cover with cold water and place on the stove. When the water boils, season with salt, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 25-35 minutes (until tender). Then drain the liquid, leaving very little water at the bottom of the pan. Add a lump of soft butter at room temperature to the potatoes.

Step 2

Using a special pusher, turn the potatoes into mashed potatoes, gradually pouring in a thin stream of milk as needed. Try it, add pepper to taste and salt if necessary. Then mix all the ingredients thoroughly again. The longer and more actively the potatoes are crumpled, the softer the puree will turn out.

Step 3

Take strips of bacon and use a sharp knife to cut them into small pieces. Wash greens under cold water and dry, and then chop.

Step 4

Transfer the potatoes to an ovenproof ceramic dish and gently flatten the top with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle the puree on top with small pieces of bacon and herbs. Place the dish in an oven preheated to 150-180 degrees for 15 minutes, so that the bacon is fried and a golden crust forms on the surface of the puree.

Step 5

Delicious mashed potatoes with bacon and herbs are ready. Serve the dish hot right in the form in which it was baked. Sprinkle fresh herbs on top again. Enjoy your meal!
