Myprotein compression socks review

Having a good running shoe does not always give you a feeling of complete comfort and stability when running. If you choose the wrong socks, it will definitely affect your pace, and it can also result in calluses. Basic properties

Socks are 75 percent cotton, 20 percent polyester and 5 percent elastane

Cotton provides comfort and good thermal insulation. However, pure cotton is not durable and wears out quickly, so polyester is added to these socks, which adds strength.

Elastane increases the elasticity of the fabric, due to which the gaiters become compression gaiters and to some extent replace compression gaiters. Although, nevertheless, their tasks are somewhat different.

2. The socks are high, so they can be called leggings rather than socks. Consequently, in cool weather, it does not blow through the legs at the bottom.

3. The presence of elastane allows the socks to evenly fit the leg over the entire surface, which gives the effect of compression.

Quality myprotein compression gaiters

The socks are strong enough. However, due to the fact that the basis is mostly cotton, in this parameter they are inferior to socks made mainly of polyester.

The compression is felt to the right degree. Leggings do not pinch the lower leg, while making it possible to use them even with minor injuries, for example, light sprains of the calf muscles as an elastic bandage.

There is one pronounced seam in the forefoot. When running, it is not felt at all. Although the presence of a seam in running socks cannot be called a plus. Since with a certain structure of the foot, it may well rub calluses. Although it is in such a place, as in these socks, this happens extremely rarely.

The elasticity of the socks does not disappear after many washes. But it is very important to wash them in the correct mode. Pure cotton is not picky about temperature conditions, but it is important to wash polyester at temperatures up to 40 degrees, otherwise it will lose all its properties. And since polyester in this case performs a lot of functions in socks, it is necessary to wash socks exactly in the mode in which pure polyester should be processed.

Conclusions

Socks are great for running in cold and cool weather. They fit the leg well and are tight enough to retain heat better. They can get hot in summertime.

The durability of the socks is quite high. Depending on your mileage, it can last for several seasons if your mileage is less than about 400 kilometers per month and you wash your socks at the correct temperature.

The socks are very comfortable. The only visible seam is not felt. The outsole has special inserts on the inner side to improve moisture wicking and increase comfort.

The socks are well made, comfortable and pleasant to run in. Due to their compressive properties, they help to avoid many small sprains. However, for runners with a large running volume, it is very likely that socks will last for one to one and a half seasons.
