The next, already the sixth in a row, the international sports forum "Russia - a country of sports" was held on the territory of the Vladimir region. The event participants had enough time to discuss topical issues - from supporting amateur sports to countering the use of doping among international athletes. The forum took place over four days, October 10-13.
Sports issues will be dealt with by the Deputy Prime Minister
During the meeting of the Council responsible for the development of physical culture and sports in the country, President Vladimir Putin made a proposal to entrust the control over sports, tourism and youth policy to one of the Deputy Prime Ministers. In response, government officials said that the candidacy of the responsible person would soon be submitted to the president for consideration. According to Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin's proposal will not lead to the formation of new state structures or changes in the Ministry of Sports.
Vitaly Mutko, head of the relevant ministry, noted the effectiveness of the state's work in the sports field. In his opinion, the state will continue to pay great attention to the sports field, it should become a guarantor of further development and a source of necessary support. The same applies to mass physical culture - in particular, the standards of the 3rd stage of the TRP have been approved and the structure of the TRP as a whole has been worked out.
About the new head of the Olympic Committee
Alexander Zhukov, who until recently headed the Russian Olympic Committee, decided to leave his post and concentrate on his work as a deputy of the State Duma. The official noted that there are enough worthy people in Russia who can successfully develop the National Olympic Committee.
During the forum, journalists asked questions about the possible appointment of multiple Olympic champion Elena Isinbaeva to the post of head of the ROC. The athlete herself categorically denied the rumors - she noted that for the first time she heard about plans to entrust her with the Olympic Committee. These words were also confirmed by Dmitry Peskov - he noted that there were no proposals regarding the new head of the ROC from Vladimir Putin.
Problems of doping in professional sports
According to Vladimir Putin, the fight against doping should be conducted openly, on an international scale. Consideration of a bill is scheduled for December, according to which athletes will be held criminally liable for doping.
Also, at the level of the IOC and WADA, the issue of the procedure for admitting participants in competitions taking prohibited drugs with medical permission should be considered. If such measures are not taken, athletes with "legal doping" will find themselves in a privileged position.
Physical education and TRP complex
The President assured the forum participants that the state will provide the necessary support to sports at all levels. First of all, this concerns the development of sports organizations (amateur, school, student, etc.) and the restoration of the TRP complex. These measures are on the list of the most important government priorities.
The head of the Ministry of Sports, Vitaly Mutko, noted that the revival of the TRP could become a means of solving many problems existing in Russian sports. Various sports standards, including running, pull-ups and push-ups in the TRP Complex, will make it possible to monitor the situation with the physical training of Russians every year. The program aimed at reviving the complex is now in the active stage of implementation, and the results are already ahead of the originally defined schedule.
New TRP format
Initially, it was assumed that 12 regions of the country would be involved in the first stage of the program, but applications came from another 49 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The established schedule is now about 8 months ahead of schedule. At the school level, the complex is planned to be adapted to the current education system, without allocating additional classes for it as an independent subject.
It is proposed, among other things, to take the TRP with a preparatory group for physical education, and many are interested in this. Almost 4 million Russians have already expressed a desire to pass the standards. The Ministry of Sports believes that this is already a good result, but the plans are much more ambitious. In particular, at least 7 million citizens are planned to be included in the TRP system by the end of next year, 2017 - these are people who are undergoing training or have already fulfilled the standards.
At the forum, it was decided to appoint two ambassadors of the TRP - athletes who will be involved in promoting the complex in society. Olympic champions Elena Isinbaeva (pole vaulting) and Svetlana Zhurova (speed skating) became ambassadors. Thus, coverage of the winter and summer TRP disciplines will be provided.
