As you can see from the table, in order to run 8 km in the first category, men need to run every kilometer from 3 minutes and 10 seconds. It's fast enough. However, in order to perform the first shock at a distance of 10 km, it is necessary to run every kilometer no slower than 3.15. That is, it is easier to perform a discharge by 8 km, since the difference is small, and the difference in distance is 2 km. Although here, too, everything depends on the endurance and speed of the athlete.

For women, the standards are, of course, softer. To complete the first discharge on an 8-kilometer track, you need to cover the distance in half an hour. This is 3 minutes and 45 seconds per kilometer. At the same time, at a distance of 10 km, each kilometer must be run in 3.48 in order to also complete 1 discharge. Therefore, it is obvious that the time is almost the same, but the distance is shorter by 2 km.
3. Features of a distance of 8 km
A distance of 8 km is not much different from a distance of 10 km. This also applies to running tactics and preparation.
As well as for 10 km, on an 8-kilometer distance, it is necessary to correctly expand the forces so that the second half of the distance is no slower than the first.
It is very important to find your own pace at which your breathing will be as even as possible throughout most of the distance.
