By bringing the Ready to Work and Defense program back to life, the government plans to motivate citizens of all ages to keep fit. The TRP standards are a good criterion for assessing your own fitness and level of physical endurance.
Why is the TRP system introduced?
The introduction of the TRP program in Russia, as conceived by the country's leaders, should perform the same functions as in the USSR. Firstly, this way you can easily monitor the general health of every citizen:
- for admission to the delivery of standards, it is required to pass a medical examination, albeit in an abbreviated form;
- each standard corresponds to the level of physical fitness, and the state maintains a national register and can assess these parameters.
The second reason why these standards are introduced is education. For all the shortcomings of the Soviet state system, she had a very significant plus: an excellent patriotic education. It was considered prestigious and fashionable to be “ready for work and defense” for the good of the Motherland and its citizens. It is remarkable that this point of view is now supported by the younger generation.
Is it obligatory to pass the TRP? No, this is a voluntary step, but in the near future it is planned to introduce preferences for those who meet these parameters. For example, for high school students this can be an additional bonus when entering universities, and older citizens can count on social benefits.
How to prepare for passing the standards
Successful passing of the norms requires preliminary preparation and regular training. In order to know what to prepare for, you will need a table of TRP norms for schoolchildren or for adults, if the age has exceeded 17 full years. Schoolchildren take standards for various types of exercises; the sets are different for different age groups. For example, first graders can test themselves in the following forms:
- shuttle run or a distance of 30 meters at a time;
- pull-ups or push-ups to choose from;
- bends forward with palms touching the floor.
For students in grades 4 - 5, 1.5 or 2 km running is added to the compulsory types, and shooting from an air rifle already appears in the list of optional tests for 11 - 12 year olds. For high school students, the compulsory distance has been increased to 3 km, and those who wish can try their hand at cross-country skiing, timed swimming or sports hiking trips.
When preparing for delivery, it is important to develop both strength qualities and general endurance, because it is these parameters that are confirmed by the norms. Children and adolescents are not required to show high technique, it is not included in the evaluation criteria. The speed-strength qualities of an ordinary person sometimes turn out to be higher than those of a professional athlete. The table of norms does not contain strict technical requirements, there are requirements only for the result.
It is important to remember that in order to be tested, you must first pass a minimum medical examination and obtain an admission.
